The library offers great programs for teens, from Anime Club to ACT preparation. Be sure to check out the calendar for new and upcoming events.

Anime Club

For teens in 7th -12th grade. Anime Club is for teens who want to get together with other fans of anime and manga. join us to watch your favorite anime, read and discuss manga, create your own artwork, and treat yourself to some Japanese snacks. Meets one Thursday a month from 5-6:30 in Meeting Room C.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

For teens in 7th – 12th grade. TAB is where teens come to tell us librarians what the library should be doing for teens like you. Meets one Thursday a month from 4-5. TAB members also volunteer at the library as needed.

Cards For Hospitalized Kids

For teens in 6th-12th grade. One Saturday a month, the Teen Lounge is the place to be to make cards for kids in the hospital. We supply the materials and suggested messages--you supply your creativity and energy. Meets in the Teen Lounge from 1-3 (or any amount of time you can give).

ACT Preparation

ACT Practice Test & Strategy Workshop Get ready for the ACT with this two-part program presented by Kaplan Test Prep & Admissions. Takes place on two consecutive Saturdays in February of each year.

Teen Book Club

Our teen book club, the ## Shelfies## , meets every other month to hang out, drink coffee, and discuss book. Pick up the book club book one month before the meeting at the Readers’ Services desk. For teens in 7th -12th grade.

Battle of the Bands

Our annual Battle of the Bands is July 11th from 6-9 on Library Plaza. Come out to hear local bands compete for awesome cash prizes and a chance to move on to the the State of Illinois Regional Competition.
